JUST SOLD! FUNDING NEW HOME BUILD IN GUATEMALA!

Congratulations to John and Claudia Smith who just purchased this lovely little cottage from Patty Freeman! 2roofs is grateful to be able to help fund a home build in Guatemala from our company's proceeds from the sale. The build will be dedicated to the memory of Dorotha Springstead, Patty's mother.

We are planning the build for later this month in Antigua. We can't wait to share photos and the story with you soon!

Rob and I are so grateful to you, our 2roofs' friends, for all the referrals you are sending our way! We are currently working with multiple buyers and sellers and each and every one will help fund a home build for someone in need when the sale closes.

a 2Roofs Story: Madelin's Family Gets A New Home in guatemala!

SEE PHOTOS OF A RECENT HOME BUILD!

Madelin is 5 months old and her family is from a small village outside of the town of Parramos, Guatemala. Her father, Maudilio, and mother, María, work as a day laborers planting and picking different fruits and vegetables depending on the season. This type of work is very sporadic and does not provide enough dependable income for adequate shelter. María, her mom, also works as a day laborer in the fields with Madelin strapped to her back.

Story: Our pilot project home build

Story: Our pilot project home build

While walking the streets of Granada I am bombarded by young children in tattered clothes, barefoot and dusty. All seeking to touch me, hold my attention, sell me a trinket or ask for money. Later, when driving around surrounding towns and villages I ask him about the poverty in his country. I ask him to take me to a place these shooed away ones live. After much hesitation he veered off the main streets and took me down narrow, unpaved roads where I saw tents, structures made of tarps, wood poles and scrap metal.
