A 2roofs Story: a family with a sick child receives a new home

This is why we at 2roofs Real Estate get up in the morning. We get to help our clients find the perfect place to call home and then we get to use our commission to pay it forward by helping build a home for someone in need. Being a part of creating a better story for these families is such a gift to us.

Meet the Tubac Sanum family from Antigua, Guatemala. José, kind and soft spoken, is the main economic support for the family. He does construction which is very sporadic work so he often works odd jobs to earn money to support his family. Cindy takes care of their home and their young son Kevin as he is often sick during the cold and rainy season.

The family’s former shelter was made of sheets of tin with a dirt floor. Due to exposure to the elements, Kevin struggled with ongoing illness. However, neither of the parents had the education they needed in order to get a decent paying, stable job in order to improve their living conditions.

After a recent home sale, 2roofs was blessed to be able come alongside The GODSCHILD Project and help build a home for Jose, Cindy and Kevin. We (Rob and Sean) were able to meet the family on a recent trip to Guatemala. Check out the photos of the build below!

2roofs is a whole new kind of real estate concept. We donate a portion of every commission towards helping end homelessness and we connect our clients with the stories.

When you buy or sell your home with 2roofs, we help build one for someone in need at no additional cost to you. A roof for a roof.

After the home is built we deliver a coffee table book to you with photos of the build and a bit of the story about the family your sale helped.
