We are excited to share that one of our recent home sales helped fund this amazing project in Uganda!
Kingdom Home, Uganda
Kingdom Home is a not-for-profit in Uganda whose mission is to end child sex slavery through prevention by providing a safe place to live for children at risk of entering the sex trade.
The donation went to fund the current need to build four homes, an outdoor meeting area, a soccer field, and space for farming. The first home, which will be the first of a typical design, will house 35 young girls, two house-parents, sleeping porches (20 bunk beds), a communal living area, and a study space. Instead of opting for a simpler design with a common living and eating area flanked by sleeping dormitories, the design envisions each of the four homes as self-contained and complete units with separate kitchens and living spaces. This is so as not to institutionalize the children but allow them to grow up in as much of a traditional “home” environment.
