What is the Sean Humphrey House?

SHH is a non-profit adult family home located in Bellingham, WA that provides safe housing and 24-hour personal care services to low-income individuals living with HIV/AIDS, and who often suffer from other diseases, disabilities and varying forms of mental illness.  Most residents have little to no family or friends and tend to self-isolate from others.  SHH offers a wide variety of services including medical supervision, rehabilitation, life-style training to mitigate the effects of the disease and recreational activities. Their aim is to foster good physical health as well as the feelings of confidence, self-esteem and a sense of security within our residents.

Sean Humphrey House is just one of two houses remaining in Washington State that offer these services.  Without SHH, most of the residents would be homeless and without the care and medication they require to survive.  A break in treatment can be very harmful and is associated with higher risks of getting sick, having more side effects and even death.

A few months ago one of their residents acquired much needed, enhanced hearing aids.  Another received a leg brace to help her walk with more ease.  And another recently obtained new eyeglasses so he’s able to read clearly again.  Insurance doesn’t always cover the necessary items residents need to make their lives more comfortable.  Community and individual contributions directly touch the lives of each resident living at Sean Humphrey House.

SHH relies heavily on the community for support to help continue offering optimal care to a much deserved and marginalized population.  2roofs clients have stepped up to partner with Sean Humphrey House and they are very grateful.  All donations secured from these two sales will allow SHH to continue their mission to provide a safe home and optimize the quality of life for people living with HIV/AIDS.  It also allows them to expand resources and education to those in the community in need of services and programs.  Every bit of funding received has a positive impact on the daily lives of their residents.
