Meet Esther:
Esther is one year old and from Escuintla, Guatemala. Her mother was previously in an abusive relationship and is raising Esther on her own without any financial or physical support from Esther’s father. Due to malnourishment, digestive issues and an upper respiratory illness, Esther was referred to Casa Jackson by her doctor. Esther’s mother is also benefitting from the mental health services offered through Casa Jackson.
Since being at Casa Jackson, Esther’s health has dramatically improved and she is gaining weight and growing stronger each day. Esther’s mom is also recovering from the trauma she experienced in the abusive relationship. There is a positive outcome for both mom and child and though their journey is not over with Casa Jackson quite yet, there is reason to believe a bright future is ahead for both of them.
